Soundstripe, the go-to music licensing company for creatives, is teaming up with established industry leaders to bring a vital upgrade to commercial music licensing. In partnership with Orfium, Tuned Global, Music Reports, and Cyanite, Soundstripe is building the music industry’s most robust “click-to-license” platform, offering pre-cleared music – from indie to iconic. Full roll out is slated for the spring of 2025.
“These partnerships have brought to life a product that’s been addressing a need that’s evolved over a decade,” says Trevor Hinesley, CTO and co-founder of Soundstripe. “Thanks to Orfium, Tuned Global, Music Reports, and Cyanite, Soundstripe now leads the industry toward a future where companies work together to protect the value of music and give rightsholders access to untapped revenue.”
Through these partnerships, Soundstripe connects several elements of licensing, which have long been separate. Orfium’s SyncTracker product ensures all licensed music has been cleared when a video posts to UGC platforms like YouTube. Tuned Global manages content delivery and asset management on the recording side, and Music Reports the publishing side, covering all the licensing bases behind the scenes–with zero hassle for customers. By tearing down the silos between publishing and sound recording rights clearance, Soundstripe and its partners have made the process easier from start to finish–making it effortless to clear the music on social media platforms like YouTube, track usage, and pay royalties.
With plans to continue building and curating its catalog rapidly as it signs deals with significant labels and publishers, Soundstripe has called on software company Cyanite. Cyanite’s AI-driven technology enables Soundstripe to tag and search music at scale, making it easier to discover the perfect track.
“Orfium has managed UGC license clearance for Soundstripe’s catalog over the last several years, and is beyond excited to expand the partnership to include this first of a kind offering for Creators.” says Orfium’s Chief Product Officer, Drew Delis.
“Tuned Global is dedicated to helping labels and services navigate and realize new endeavors that support the business goals of all involved,” says Tuned Global Managing Director Con Raso. “We are honored to partner with Soundstripe to create a collaborative music ecosystem, making it easier for creatives to do their best work.”
“Music Reports knows music publishing and how to license music rights for commercial uses,” notes the company’s COO and General Counsel Bill Colitre, “and we’re delighted to bring our extensive experience to help Soundstripe solve the persistent problem of scalable music licensing for film, video, and ad creatives.”
Cyanite’s CEO, Markus Schwarzer, says about the partnership: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Soundstripe as they integrate top-tier solutions within their platform. This partnership reflects the collaborative spirit and diversity of the music-tech industry. Supporting Soundstripe in helping users find the right music more easily and intuitively through our advanced tagging and search algorithms aligns perfectly with Cyanite’s mission.”
“Thanks to help from our partners, Soundstripe is not only streamlining rights management now, but also laying the groundwork for a future where we can automatically clear copyrights with several rightsholders,” reflects Hinesley. “Streamlined sync rights management, along with data-informed human curation, will be the next phase in discovering and unlocking revenue for rightsholders.”
