Teenager in Custody
A 16-year-old teenager is in police custody in connection with the murder of a retired Chicago Police Department (CPD) officer and bomb technician. The teenager’s mother reportedly played a role in bringing him to the police.

The retired officer, who was also a marine and a community church minister, was working in his yard when he was fatally shot. The officer had retired in 2010 after 20 years of service, including time spent with the TSA as an explosives expert.
