Amanda Kloots on Having ‘a lot of first dates’ Wednesday on “The Talk” Amanda Kloots weighs in on author and life coach Jay Shetty’s take that couples watching TV together is the “lowest form of intimacy” and slowly killing relationships. Kloots opens up, “I have an interesting perspective on this because I’m out in this dating world, so I don’t have a partner at home that I’m watching TV with, right. And I think because of going on a lot of first dates that are usually, like you know, fun. For instance, I had this guy recently take me on row boats in Echo Park, I mean, adorable first date.
Or like pinball, or the arcade, or bowling. And it is fun, because you’re out with the person, you’re laughing, you’re making jokes, you’re trying new things. So, it brings a very intimate, you know, feeling.” She adds, “When you’re married or you’ve been dating someone for a long time, you’re like what do you want to do tonight, let’s just sit on the couch tonight and watch an episode of dah, dah, dah…but when you’re first dating you would never say that…so he’s right. I think he’s right.”
Danielle Brooks on Lenny Kravitz; Mimicking Oprah’s Mannerisms & ‘swag surf’ Ritual Danielle Brooks discusses her surprising friendship with Lenny Kravtiz, Oprah Winfrey and her “The Color Purple” cast. On Kravitz <a href="she shares, "Every time he sees me, we just have this kismet friendship moment, and he kisses my hand…he smells like honey. I never thought me and Lenny would be cool like that. I am a happily married woman you know, but it's really fun to have these moments with these huge stars that admire my work and I admire theirs." Jerry O'Connell asks about spending so much time with Oprah Winfrey, "Do you pick anything up?" "I have learned so much," says Brooks. "So, I find myself doing things like Oprah does.
She holds her hands like this all the time [steepling hands] and the other day we were at Critics Choice and I had my hands like this and I look over, and I was like…if I’m going to pick up from anybody, I’m going to pick up mannerisms from a billionaire, from a mogul, okay. So, I’m not mad at it.” She also shares her get ready ritual with her glam team before awards shows. “We want to enjoy these moments. They can be so stressful, so we decided we were going to swag surf at all of these events when we were getting ready. We swag surf…just to keep the energy high and make memories.”
