Wayne Brady Says ‘The Wiz’ is a ‘love letter to the black experience’
“The Wiz’s” Wayne Brady [The Wiz] and Deborah Cox [Glinda] visit “The Talk” to discuss the revival of the Broadway show. Cox shares, “I have been a fan of Waynes for a very long time, I think he is the most charismatic and extremely talented individual, especially when it comes to freestyle.” On “The Wiz” Brady reveals, “It’s an all-black cast,” with Cox adding, “It’s a reimagined version.
It’s been redone to reflect the more contemporary times.” Brady shares, “There’s an update to the humor…it’s something that will stand the test of time that all families will enjoy no matter what you look like, but if you do happen to look like the people on stage you just may like it even more…It’s a beautiful love letter to the black experience.”
