Introduction

State Attorney Susie Lopez and law enforcement officials announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of Charles Jones, known by his stage name Julio Foolio. Warrants are issued, and two other suspects are being actively pursued.

Suspects and Charges

The arrested suspects are Isaiah Chance, Alisa Andrews, and Sean Gright, all charged with first-degree premeditated murder with the discharge of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder with the discharge of a firearm. The two at-large suspects are Davon Murphy and Rashard Murphy.

Incident Details

The shooting occurred on June 23rd in Tampa, where police responded to reports on McKinley Drive, discovering four victims. Charles Jones, who was celebrating his birthday and had posted his locations on social media, was pronounced dead. Surveillance footage showed suspects following Jones from multiple locations before attacking him near a hotel at 4:15 AM.

Investigation and Evidence

The investigation revealed that the suspects followed Jones to his hotel, where three armed shooters exited a vehicle and fatally shot him. The barrage of gunfire also injured three others. Investigators used surveillance video, license plate readers, and phone logs to identify the suspects’ vehicles and link them to the crime.

Gang Involvement

The shooters were identified as members or affiliates of rival gangs, ATK and 1200, while Jones was part of the Six Block gang. The shooting is believed to be part of an ongoing feud between these gangs in Jacksonville.

Law Enforcement Response

Officials emphasized that Tampa is not a place to settle gang disputes and promised strict legal action against gang members. The arrests were made possible through the collaboration between Tampa Police, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), and other law enforcement agencies. Jacksonville Sheriff TK Waters stressed the commitment to hold violent criminals accountable.
