Taylor N. BradleyMorgan State University Graves School of Business and Management MBA students, Michael Ligons, Jr. and Taylor N. Bradley, have been selected by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Hennessy to participate in the second cohort of the Hennessy Fellows program for the period of Spring 2020 to Spring 2021. This marks the second consecutive year that Morgan students have competed and placed in the highly sought-after fellowship program that seeks to develop the business leaders and executives of tomorrow from the ranks of the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Each year, the Hennessy Fellows program identifies approximately 10 high-achieving, high-potential HBCU graduate students to receive soft skills training, corporate development experiences and financial assistance for their studies. The program experience also includes participation in forums and networking opportunities that will facilitate the exchange of ideas, and provide direct exposure to the interrelatedness of corporate, social and economic systems. The three Morgan students who participated in the inaugural cohort, recently graduated from the program this past May.

Michael Ligons, JrEach hand-selected graduate student participant in the program receives benefits in the form of one-on-one executive coaching, up to $20,000 per academic year in financial assistance, a $10,000 annual stipend for other educational expenses, an opportunity to compete for a community-related project grant up to $10,000, as well as access to online training, boot camps, networking events and professional development experiences. With these tools, the fellows are placed into a pipeline of corporate leadership-ready talent from HBCUs and well-positioned to unlock competitive business advantages that will lead them toward reaching the C-Suite.

Applications to participate in the third class of Hennessy Fellows opened this August and closes on December 6th, 2020. All interested graduate students can apply online.

Congratulations to Michael Ligons and Taylor Bradley for representing the National Treasure on the national stage!
