Tom Lewis Former WYLD Owner Dies

 width=LEWIS Tom Lewis, former owner of local New Orleans radio station, WYLD AM/FM, former President and founder of the Southside Bank, President of InterBlack Broadcasting and first executive director of the Operation’s PUSH Commercial Division died on Sunday, December 18, 2011 from a massive heart attack. Despite many health challenges at the age of 75, having retired from radio broadcasting he still remained a very active entrepreneur. He was born on March 17, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Thomas V. Lewis and Marjorie Carson Lewis. He was married to Almera Brooks Lewis and into these union, two children was born: Tracey and Todd Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories, his two loving grandchildren: Taban and Coda Lewis and a host of other relatives and friends. The Funeral Services will be held at Cosmopolitan Community Church, 5249 South Wabash, Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.
