Nearly three years ago, a mother from Chicago experienced the devastating loss of her two sons in a car crash. Today, she is reliving that immense pain after her only daughter, Zakiya Cobbs, was fatally shot.
The Incident
Zakiya Cobbs, 22, was out with friends on Wednesday night when she was shot during a large gathering in a parking lot near 31st Street Beach. She was one of two women injured in the incident, which involved a white Corolla or white Camry. Cobbs later died at the hospital, while the other woman was treated for a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Previous Tragedy
In July 2021, Cobbs’ two teenage brothers died in a car crash in Hickory Hills. Their mother expressed her heartache at the time, highlighting the difficulty of burying two children at once.
