A CBS reporter said that one of the most iconic gowns in American fashion may now be damaged. A Marilyn Monroe collector is making a claim that Kim Kardashian wore a dress belonging to Monroe to the Met Gala Award last month. The collector said there were missing crystals from the dress and several rips along the zipper.
Monroe wore the dress while singing happy birthday to former President Kennedy in 1962. There is no comment yet from Kardashian or Ripley’s Believe It or Not, who lent the dress to the reality star.
Noah said he feels sorry for Kardashian. People are angry when she wears clothes and when she does not, people are mad. On the other hand, Noah questioned Kardashian’s actions. He said the Marilyn Monroe dresses is a part of American history.
If a person is trusted with a piece of American history, they must do everything they can to take care of it.
“Kim obviously took a big risk with a delicate artifact, and it backfired. But you know who takes most of the blame here, Ripley’s. They’re the ones who loaned the dress to Kim,” said Noah.
The host questions why Ripley owns the dress in the first place. Since Ripley owns the dress, they were in charge of preserving it, and if they lent the dress to Kim, it was their responsibility.
