Two Funny Mamas Podcast Gets Third NAACP Image Award Nomination

The Mocha Podcasts Network hit podcast Two Funny Mamas,  co-hosted by award-winning comedic powerhouses, actresses, and TV personalities Sherri Shepherd and Kym Whitley, celebrate their third NAACP Image Award nomination. The award-winning podcast  was highlighted for its episode, The Legacy of Martha’s Vineyard,’ featuring Stephanie Rance, co founder of the historic Run & Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival  (MVAAFF).

During this episode, Shepherd and Whitley talk to Rance about the history of MVAAFF and  its significance to the multiple generations of African Americans who travel annually to the island for  camaraderie and celebration.

On Two Funny Mamas, Shepherd (also the host of the nationally syndicated EMMY-award-winning talk  show Sherri) and Whitley blend their comedic power to deliver a podcast that speaks to culture,  sisterhood, moms, and working women everywhere. Nothing is off limits when these two funny ladies  get together to talk about life, love, motherhood, singleness, relationships, dating, pop culture, sex  (or the lack thereof!), and everything in between.

Two Funny Mamas has proudly received two NAACP  Image Awards: “Outstanding Lifestyle and Self-Help” (2022) and “Arts & Entertainment” (2023) with  producer, Chris Denman, and Mid Coast Media Group, LLC., and executive produced by Sheila Eldridge on the Mocha Podcasts Network

MVAAFF is the brainchild of Rance and her husband, Floyd. For twenty-two years, thousands have  descended upon Martha’s Vineyard during their highly venerated film festival celebrating storytellers  of color. During this multi-day event, independent and established African American filmmakers can  showcase, screen, and promote emerging feature, documentary, and short films from around the  world. A few highlights from the episode include:

· Rance on the Origin of MVAAFF…and Panicking During Her First Year: 4:25-8:25 · Rance on Encouraging Black Women to Go After Their Entrepreneurial Dreams: 9:51-11:08 · Shepherd and Whitley on Not Getting an Invitation to MVAAFF: 11:51-12:30 and 14:08-15:18 Voting ends on February 7, 2025.
