Shooting in Ukrainian Village
A 12-year-old girl was wounded in a shooting that took place at around 11:00 PM last night in the 2500 block of West Division Street, located in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood. The girl was inside a vehicle with her father when the shots were fired. The father, who drove his daughter to Ascension Saint Mary’s Hospital immediately after the incident, reported that his daughter was hit in the leg but is currently in good condition.
Details of the Incident
According to the father, a vehicle had passed him driving erratically shortly before the shooting. He is uncertain whether the shots were fired from the same car that had been following them or if the incident was related to road rage or another motive. No one is currently in custody in connection with this shooting.
Shooting in West Pershing
In another incident, three teenagers were shot at around 9:45 PM in the 200 block of West Pershing. The victims include a 15-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy. They were standing outside when someone exited a car and began firing at them. All three were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and are expected to recover.
Citywide Impact
These shootings are part of a larger wave of violence in Chicago, with at least 36 people shot across the city over the weekend. No suspects have been apprehended in connection with the shootings of the teenagers.
