Universal Music Group has added the House of Blues recording studio to its collection of famous studios for a reported $4.3 million. Other well-known studios now under the UMG banner include Capitol Studios in LA and London’s world famous Abbey Road Studio.

Previously known as East Iris Studios, House of Blues bought the studio in 2009. It features five commercial recording studios and eight buildings. A UMG spokesperson has promised its renovation “while remaining respectful of its legendary and iconic status in Nashville’s music scene.”

Some of the well-known albums produced at the location include Kacey Musgrave’s Golden Hour, Ke$ha’s Rainbow, Robert Plant’s Band of Joy, and Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell’s The Traveling Kind.
