An under-construction hotel in California was engulfed in flames on Tuesday night, causing part of the structure to collapse, said a report.
At about 7:10 p.m., the fire broke out in a structure at the Mian Plaza and Convention Center of Camarillo. According to a Ventura County Fire Department video, flames shot up into the sky.
According to the Ventura County Star, the fire started on the second floor but quickly spread to the higher floors.
As firefighters battled the blaze, lanes on nearby Highway 101 were closed for a while.
“Fire activity [had] significantly decreased,” according to the Ventura County Fire Department, by about 10 p.m.

According to the department’s footage, smoke was still rising from the debris, but the flames were under control.
