Victor Oladipo, a two-time NBA All-Star and R&B artist, has released a 7-track album called Tunde available to stream here. He collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer Harmony “H-Money” Samuels, who has worked with Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, and Jennifer Hudson, and recorded the entire project at H-Money’s studio in Los Angeles.
The album’s latest single “Exercise” features Nigerian singer/songwriter Nonso Amadi, which Oladipo tells Complex “sets the tone for the album.” Tunde marks Oladipo’s debut in the Afrobeats genre.
“I decided to do an Afrobeats album to give back to my culture, which has made me who I am and given me the strength to get through many storms,” explains Oladipo. “I felt like doing an Afro album would show my love and appreciation for my culture and my people. The love and appreciation they show and have shown me, I want them to receive that through this album.”
Tunde lead single “Symphony,” which boasts a catchy guitar track and hummable vocal melodies impressed American Songwriter who commented “one might wonder how someone can be a standout in two different professions, but Oladipo certainly fits the bill with a butter-slick voice to go with his slicing NBA game.”
The song was followed by “Morning Gift” which showcases sensual lyrics over breezy island-inspired production.
Tunde is Victor Oladipo’s first new music to release since his highly-acclaimed 2018 debut album, V.O. In addition to generating millions of streams and views, the project earned widespread acclaim.
Billboard praised, “V.O. is filled with sultry love ballads and even opens with a bouncy potential strip-club anthem,” and Complex observed, “How many people know that the ultra-talented Oladipo had the kind of pipes worthy of recording an album, though?”
Among many highlights, “Connected” with the late PnB Rock gathered 3.2 million Spotify streams and 1.1 million YouTube views on the music video.
