Brighter Days In the DMV As Sunni Takes Helm of WHUR Middays”

The forecast is all sunshine and blue skies at 96.3 WHUR as a familiar voice takes over middays beginning Thursday, June 8th.  Sunni Puric aka “Sunni and the City” hits the airways from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. bringing her high energy and love for the community to round out WHUR’s powerhouse weekday line up.

Sunni is no stranger to the DMV. She is currently a contributing host on Fox5 DC and a much sought after personality at events across the region.  The former Bosnian refugee, migrated to the United States in 1997 with her family.  She quickly adapted to her new home country, learning English in six months. At the age of 18, Sunni landed her first job in radio and has been sailing the airwaves across the country with stints in Detroit, Miami, and here in the DMV. 

“Is there a word to describe when GREAT meets GREAT?  We spoke with a lot of incredible people, but all roads led back home!  Sunni is on the A-LIST of DMV TV, Radio, social life, and social media,” said Al Payne, WHUR’s Director of Programming and Operations.   “Her work to empower WOMEN is unmatched as well.  WHUR is changing the DC daily forecast with a guarantee of SUNNI days along with our (Quiet) STORMS at night!”

 “I am so incredibly honored to be your next midday host at WHUR. To start this next chapter of my radio career in such a legendary space is a total dream come true,” said Sunni. 

The addition of Sunni completes WHUR’s weekday line up beginning with the Steve Harvey Morning Show at 6 a.m, Sunni and the City at 10 a.m.., Frank Ski with Nina Brown at 3p.m., The Daily Drum with Harold FiJohn Monds from 7:30 p.m. to midnight.
