Plastic Surgery Filmed Without Consent (video)

WARNING: When you get surgery at the hospital, they have you sign a waiver where you give them permission to record your surgery.

You used to be able to cross it out on the forms, but now they have you sign those digital small boxes, and only the person having you sign can see what you are signing and you cannot. So you sign off on it automatically.

This doctor claims that every patient gave her permission to record them but the question is did they SEE what they were signing and did they KNOW?

If you ask to see the paper that you are signing, they will show you the paper you are NOT signing and refused to allow you to see the actual document that you are signing. Even if they offer you copies, it’s too late, you have already signed.

This should be taken up as a patient’s rights issue and should be illegal because you could end up like this woman in Atlanta who may have signed off on that form, the same way, and her surgery was recorded and posted while the doctor got her groove on with a hip-hop song.

What should have been a joyous celebration for this woman who had plastic surgery turned out to be an extreme embarrassment and humiliation thanks to a happy work environment taken to a new extreme.

In the video, you can see an Atlanta surgeon named Dr. Windell Davis-Boutte, dancing around the operating room in what she claims was 30 seconds. The patient claims the doctor left her disfigured.

The doctor and an anesthesiologist named Dr. Roland Pinkney were dancing partners in the video, and he was also called to task for the video.

The plastic surgeon had several malpractice lawsuits pending at the time of the video, and the patient, Latoya Rideau, filed a lawsuit as well and said she was shocked to see herself in the video.

The medical board suspended Boutte’s license but did not mention her dancing in the operating room as a part of the infractions. She was suspended for two and a half years as a result and told CNN she felt she has done nothing wrong. Your thoughts?
