Teens Arrested in Fatal Attempted Robbery Incident

The situation spiraled out of control when the driver of the jeep, in an attempt to protect his wife, fired his gun, hitting and killing the 14-year-old Sanderson. Three bullets had already struck the passenger of the jeep, but fortunately, the driver was able to take his wife to the hospital for treatment of two gunshot wounds.
Following the shooting, seven of the teens involved in the attempted robbery were arrested and are now in police custody. Authorities have confirmed that this was not the first encounter many of these teenagers had with the law. In fact, some of them had previous criminal records, with one of them having been in the criminal justice system since the age of 10.
