Beach Shooting: 19-Year-Old Arrested (Video)

REVERE, Mass. — Law enforcement officials have apprehended a 19-year-old individual in connection with a shooting incident that took place near Revere Beach during Memorial Day weekend. Deshawn Teleau, a resident of Malden, was taken into custody by Revere police on multiple charges, including assault and battery with a firearm as well as carrying a loaded firearm.

The shooting transpired on May 28, shortly after 7 p.m., in the vicinity of Shirley and Centennial avenues, close to Revere Beach. Video footage of the incident depicts a group engaged in a physical altercation when a man wearing shorts and a sleeveless white shirt brandishes a firearm and discharges several rounds. In response, the surrounding crowd disperses.

A 17-year-old girl was struck in the leg by a gunshot, as reported by state police. The victim was promptly transported to a Boston hospital, where her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Teleau is scheduled to appear in court for his initial arraignment on Thursday afternoon, as stated by Revere police. “Despite the highly tumultuous scene, our patrol division effectively managed the crime scene, secured crucial evidence, and interviewed witnesses, all of which yielded valuable information for our investigators,” remarked Police Chief David Callahan in a statement regarding the case. The detective division exhibited relentless efforts, ultimately securing an arrest warrant for the suspect.

Additionally, another shooting incident occurred approximately an hour later on Revere Beach Boulevard, near one of the bathhouses, resulting in injuries to two individuals. Source.
