3 Memphis Hospital Shooting Victims Detained in Connection to Stolen Vehicle

3 Memphis hospital shooting victims have been detained in connection with a stolen vehicle. The three people were among the six injured overnight during a shooting near a Memphis hospital.

The victims were shot in the Covington Pike and Austin Peay area around 12:42 a.m. Tuesday said the Memphis Police Department. The wounded was then transported to the Methodist North Hospital. The injured group was relocated to area hospitals for treatment, informed Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.

Two people hurt in the shooting were taken to Le bonheur in critical condition. One of the victims’ statuses had been downgraded to non-critical condition. The other four were taken to Regional One Hospital and were listed in critical condition. One of the victims at Regional was also downgraded to non-critical conditions.

A suspect in a black SUV reportedly opened fire on all of the victims. No injuries were reported by hospital staff.

Investigators said the victims had a stolen vehicle, and three have now been arrested. Following the incident, MLH released a statement. Part of it reads: “We appreciate the swift action from our employees to guide patients away from the ED waiting area so our security team and Memphis Police Department could respond quickly. We are working with local law enforcement, who are continuing to investigate. The hospital is not on lockdown at this time.”

The incident is still under investigation.
