Alfredo Delgadillo has been appointed CEO & President of Universal Music México. From his base in Mexico City, Delgadillo will report to Jesús López, Chairman/CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula. Previously serving as Managing Director of Universal Music Mexico since 2017, Delgadillo’s new role will also include leading the regional Mexican Label Fonovisa-Disa.

Under Delgadillo’s leadership, Universal Music Mexico has excelled in promoting local artists such as Lasso, Danna Paola, and Mon Laferte, as well as bringing international acts to the forefront of the Mexican music scene. He played a crucial role in developing Global Talent Services (GTS) in Mexico, organizing successful events for artists like Morat and Aitana.

Delgadillo’s career at Universal Music Mexico started in 1998 as International Marketing Manager. After a stint at EMI Music Mexico, where he contributed to the success of artists like Zoé and Robbie Williams, he rejoined Universal following their acquisition of EMI in 2013. As General Manager and later Managing Director, he was pivotal in promoting talents like Mon Laferte and international stars including J. Balvin and Taylor Swift.

Commenting on his new appointment, Delgadillo expressed his commitment to further expanding the success of Latin and Regional Mexican music, as well as live and management businesses. He emphasized his excitement about working with Antonio Silva and the Fonovisa-Disa team.

Jesús López, in announcing Delgadillo’s appointment, praised his extensive experience and leadership skills, noting his success in developing young executives and his track record at Universal Music Mexico. López expressed confidence in Delgadillo’s ability to excel in his new role within the company.
