Audacy’s KMLE Country 107.9 (KMLE-FM) in Phoenix has announced Niko Petrou as a new morning show host. Petrou will join Cheyenne Davis for their new show “Niko & Cheyenne,” airing weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. MT beginning January 15. Petrou will continue to host
“The Niko Show” weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. MT on sister station BIG 94.5 (KOOL-FM).
“We’re thrilled to bring Niko back to KMLE Country 107.9’s morning show. Niko and Cheyenne have built a great rapport with the local community and connecting with listeners is at the core of what they do,” said Dave Pugh, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Phoenix.
“With the duo’s love for Phoenix and enthusiastic nature, we can’t wait to see how the morning show evolves.”
“I’ve always felt that KMLE Nation and I had some unfinished business and now I can’t wait to team up with superhero Cheyenne and producer Abe Maney,” said Petrou. “I can’t wait to spread the KMLE love throughout the best city in the world. Grab a hump and hang on!”
“I am so excited to continue this morning’s radio journey, joining forces with Niko to activate our local fans and ensure that KMLE Country 107.9 is the dominant country brand in The Valley,” said Davis.
“A collective thanks to Dave Pugh, Dave Richards, Jeff Sottolano, Drew Bland and Audacy leadership for their support in this next chapter.”
Petrou is a 20-year radio veteran who first joined the Company in 2018 as a KMLE Country morning show co-host. Before KMLE Country 107.9, Niko held various roles at WBMP-FM, including assistant program director, music director and midday on-air personality, as well as evening on-air host for WHTZ-FM in New York.
He also previously hosted Music Choice’s “The Cut” and announced some of the biggest artists at Madison Square Garden.
