BIG FREEDIA SHINES ON NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR “LOUDER” FEATURING ICONA POP

The “Queen of Bounce” Big Freedia returns with an empowering new single entitled “Louder” [feat. Icona Pop] via East West Records.

Flaunting Southern flare and bawdy hip-hop heroism alongside the unmistakable catchphrase “I’ve got the power” from the Snap! classic “Power,” the track fuses a bold groove with her confident and charismatic lyrics. It climaxes on an undeniable and unbreakable chant. Meanwhile, Big Freedia slays from the moment the music video begins as she enters the frame through a pair of lips. The visual intercuts scenes of her crushing fruit and dancing with friends before leading a group of choir singers under a VHS overlay.

“‘Louder’ is about feeling the power of your own voice,” says Big Freedia of her new single. “I’m also comin’ louder this year with my music game.”

Last month, Big Freedia and multi-platinum pop artist Kesha released their new pop single “Raising Hell”. The song remains #28 on the pop radio charts. The two performed the catchy bouncy track on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! on ABC. Watch it HERE.

Big Freedia and Kesha will also perform the song at the 2019 American Music Awards this November 24th, alongside Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, and Camila Cabello.

Big Freedia is wrapping up a 25-city tour with rock group Low Cut Connie, with shows in LA, Tucson, and New Mexico next week.

Renowned worldwide as the “Queen of Bounce,” Big Freedia made history as one of the architects of the influential New Orleans bounce genre. Her exploits have been chronicled everywhere from the popular television series Big Freedia Bounces Back to her own memoir, God Save the Drag Queen Diva!, in addition to pieces in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, OUT, and the cover of PAPER MAG.

Freedia has appeared on tracks with the likes of Beyonce’s Grammy-award winning “Formation” and Drake’s “Nice For What,” to name just a few. Following fan favorites such as Queen Diva [2003], Big Freedia Hitz Vol. 1 [2010], and Just Be Free [2014], she flipped the scene upside down with the 3rd Ward Bounce EP in 2018. The single “Karaoke” [feat. Lizzo] clocked 7.1 million Spotify streams and counting. Not to mention, she appeared as the official VOGUE correspondent for the 2019 Met Gala and appeared on The Wendy Williams Show and the BET Awards.

Expect her to keep making history (and bouncing) in 2020 with her forthcoming LP.
