titi-branch_240x340_12As entrepreneurs, especially BLACK entrepreneurs we are a unique group of people who are often very misunderstood. People think we sit around and make a ton of money and do nothing but live a life of luxury. While most of us, who are successful, would not have it any other way, it is rare that we get to reap the benefits of our hard work because we often become addicted and married to our businesses and it is not always easy when you have TOO much control. In addition, others fail to realize that we often struggle to find others who are like-minded and we are often looked up to but often fail to have others to look up to when we need help since our resources as entrepreneurs are so limited in the black community. Because of all this our personal lives can also be in disarray especially when we are with someone or surrounded by people who are NOT entrepreneurs.  We must take care of ourselves and our needs. Without knowing what happened to Titi Branch, I can only imagine the joy and stress of running an successful haircare business and finding normalcy in her personal life. She was one of the co-founders of the wildly successful natural hair care line, Miss Jessie’s and she died Dec. 4, of an apparent suicide. She was 45. With her sister Miko, Branch ran a popular New York salon.
