Details of the Shootings
More than 100 people were shot across the city, with 19 fatalities and 84 individuals wounded.
Specific Incidents
There were four mass shootings, resulting in 24 people being shot, four of whom died. In Little Italy, eight people were injured, and the shooters remain at large. Another incident occurred at 71st and Woodlawn, where two women and an eight-year-old child were killed, and two other children were shot.
Official Responses
Mayor Brandon Johnson and Superintendent Larry Snelling planned to discuss public safety at a 9 a.m. press conference at police headquarters. In response to the violence, police officers had their days off canceled and increased patrols across the city.
