Today, Gibson is thrilled to introduce two of the talented musicians from the Gibson Artist Spotlight roster, Zach Person and Devon Thompson.

In line with Gibson’s ongoing commitment to elevating new music from emerging musicians around the world throughout the year, the Gibson Artist Spotlight Program will showcase an evolving group of musicians who will be celebrated across Gibson’s global and international channels.

Zach Person’s high-energy rock anthems showcase an eclectic range of influences, from country to R&B.

American indie-rocker Zach Person’s weapon of choice is a Gibson SG, which he uses to exhilarating effect on his sophomore album Let’s Get Loud. 

Available now via all major streaming services, Let’s Get Loud was produced by Nashville artist Tyler BryantZach describes the album as an “audio diary” of his mid-20s, and its blend of high-energy rock anthems showcases an eclectic range of influences, from country to R&B.

Born in Los Angeles early this century Devon Thompson comments that her earliest memory was punching through a pane of glass, to see if she could.

Quite successful in this venture, profuse amounts of blood, stitches, parental trauma, and slight fear of her next move meant performance art was already championed. Growing up a pale, emaciated misfit, Devon found her home listening to music.

Early Siouxsie, The Animals, The Cramps, Bill Evans and the Beatles permeated her developmental years. By the age of 19, Devon had been playing Los Angeles clubs with her bands for many seasons. Longtime radio talent and music manager Christopher “The Minister” was referred to her early in 2020.

Having worked with talents in the dark wave world, Minister sent Devon to a veteran producer to get her creative ideas into recorded form. Her recordings are thus far lingering with the Bel Canto of Roy Orbison, the delicacy of Harriett Wheeler, and the sheer aggression of PJ Harvey.

Gibson’s Spotlight Artist program features artists from North and South America and EuropeChina and Japan

Throughout the year, Gibson Artist Spotlight program musicians will be introduced across Gibson social media, and other channels, and their music will be highlighted through various collaborative moments in locations across the globe.

Gibson’s Artist Spotlight program follows other artist-first programs and initiatives that the brand has introduced over the past five years, including the Marquee Artist program which currently features singer/songwriter Abraham Alexander.  

The Marquee Artist Program invests in furthering the careers of artists on the rise who reflect the brand’s mission to celebrate and amplify music across genders, genres, and generations. 

Marquee artists have access to Gibson’s global resources and work with the brand to create collaboratively inspired cultural campaigns, participate in product development, and launches, support Gibson Gives nonprofit initiatives, and join in special events across Gibson products and channels, reaching millions of fans worldwide. 

Additional artist-driven initiatives include the Gibson Generation Group (Gibson G3) that supports youth artists worldwide through a two-year career mentoring program, the Gibson Gives Scholarship program which provides financial support to students with music career aspirations, and Gibson Records, a record label that works directly with artists to produce, record, and promote guitar-driven music across the globe.
