Discovery of the Body
Mia’s parents found her body just after 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning, approximately 20 yards from the roadway and less than a mile from their home. They tracked her phone to the location after she failed to return home.
Last Known Whereabouts
Mia left her home at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night. Her family believed she was with her unborn baby’s father, Jesus Monroy, heading to a Quick Trip. After waiting for hours and receiving no response from Mia, they tracked her phone, leading to the tragic discovery.
Police Actions and Arrest
The medical examiner declared Mia’s death a homicide. Jesus Monroy was arrested for lying to police but has not been named a suspect in the homicide. Police are withholding some information to avoid jeopardizing the investigation.
Family’s Plea for Justice
