His senior season saw him amass impressive statistics, with 1,898 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, along with 676 receiving yards and four touchdowns. This performance led him to play at the collegiate level, representing the Miami Hurricanes, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, and Virginia Union Panthers.

Diego Ryland, the Associate Head Coach at Virginia Union, expressed deep sadness and called the news “very unfortunate.” He spoke highly of Lewis III as an outstanding young man and teammate. Most recently, Lewis III played for the Wyoming Mustangs in the Champions Indoor Football League, showcasing his love for the game. Additionally, he was pursuing a career in the music industry, demonstrating his passion for artistic expression.
