3. SiR – Satisfaction [Single]

TDE’s, SiR, returns with his new single, “Satisfaction.” Produced by Rascal, the R&B ballad is SiR’s first solo single of 2022 and also arrives with an accompanying music video.

SiR’s last studio album dates back to 2019’s Chasing Summer, which featured the singles “Hair Down” with Kendrick Lamar, “John Redcorn” and “You Can’t Save Me.” Between then and 2022, he dropped the non-album single “Rapper Weed” and his version of The Isley Brothers’ “Footsteps in the Dark Pts. 1 &2.” Whether a new album is on the way, however, remains to be seen.

4. Logic ft. Russ – Therapy Music [Single]

Logic has recruited Russ for a thrilling new single, “Therapy Music.” The introspective track looks at the way ego fuels society, and both artists try their best to subvert that feeling.

The track follows a double helping of new music Logic released last month, with new single “Decades” and “Tetris,” which came alongside a music video.

The back-to-back release of “Decades” and “Tetris” coincided with the announcement that Logic and Wiz Khalifa will co-headline their Vinyl Verse Tour this summer, produced by Live Nation, featuring special guests DJ DRAMA, C Dot Castro, and Fedd the God.

5. Morray – Momma’s Love [Single]

Morray is gunning for the Son of the Year award with his new Mother’s Day anthem, “Momma’s Love,” single. The Fayetteville rapper/singer hits the hook, “Hey Ma, it’s your baby. You prayed, I made,” over buzzy piano chords and hard-hitting 808’s.

With this song, Morray tributes his mom by singing about all the things she did for him, all while he talks about how he wanted to work hard and be successful for her. It is a very touching song with a very upbeat aura about it. Morray’s songwriting is sharp all the way throughout, and the production matches his positive tone.

6. A$AP Rocky – D.M.B. [Single]

A$AP Rocky professes his love for Rihanna on his latest single, “D.M.B.” Rocky has faced a slew of controversies over the past few weeks stemming from his recent arrest and allegations that he was unfaithful to Rihanna, who is pregnant with his child. However, the couple has continued to move past the rumors, leading to the release of Rocky’s latest single, “D.M.B.”

The hazy production is reminiscent of his early catalog, namely Live.Love.A$AP and Long.Live.A$AP. Though he doesn’t necessarily pitch down his tone as he did when he paid homage to Houston, the Southern influence rings out on the hook.

The rapper also unveiled an official music video for the song starring Rihanna, and consisting of a marriage proposal from A$AP.

7. Tink ft. 2 Chainz – Cater [Single]

Tink is a woman in love, and she makes sure that her man knows just how much on her new single “Cater,” this time around she enlists 2 Chainz to help her turn the heat up.

On “Cater,” Tink and 2 Chainz trade alluring lyrics detailing the ways they plan to romance their significant others on their flip of Destiny’s Child‘s hit “Cater 2 U.” Tink’s real-life boyfriend (and the inspiration for this song we presume) Hitmaka is on production, and he cleverly upgrades the group’s 2005 single without distracting from the original.

8. Royce Lovett – Better [Single]

Royce Lovett, a former contestant on season 17 of NBC’s The Voice, is back with a smooth cut entitled “Better” where he sings the praises of Black women. The talented singer-songwriter co-wrote the song, which also features rapper Canon, who lends his lyrical skills to the record.

When asked about his motivation for the song, Royce explained via press release, “Malcolm X reminds us that ‘the Black woman is the most forgotten person in America.’ Through this song, I wanted to let women know, I’m here to support you, protect you and even get out of your way, so you can step into your leadership and passion.”

He pours into Black women over the track’s uptempo beat, driven by a steady bassline, drums, keys and Rhodes. Royce’s gospel and hip-hop roots are evident as his soulful voice comes through on lead and background vocals. He delivers non-stop praise and encouragement, and Canon keeps that same energy for his verse.
