The incident unfolded on Thursday when the three masked suspects, dressed in black hoodies, stormed into the store. One of them wielded a hammer to smash the display case containing gold jewelry, while the others grabbed as many gold chains as they could. The entire heist was over in approximately 30 seconds, leaving Mejia and his family devastated.
$20,000 Worth of Gold Stolen
The robbers made away with nearly $20,000 worth of gold jewelry, severely impacting Mejia’s livelihood. He was working at his bench repairing a watch when the incident occurred. Despite the shock, Mejia attempted to confront the thieves, hurling a mirror at them and trying to chase them as they fled the scene.
