Suspect and Charges
Kevin Holland, 41, is charged with two counts of assault, evading arrest, and taking a weapon from an officer. Additional charges may arise from his alleged attempts to secretly record women.
Details of the Attack
Lieutenant Kenny Boyle from the East Texas Police Department was the officer involved in the incident. Holland struck Boyle in the face and head multiple times, causing cuts and a laceration on Boyle’s scalp. During the altercation, Holland stole Boyle’s taser and used it on a Walmart employee before fleeing.
Suspect’s Criminal History
In 2017, Holland pled guilty to secretly recording women and was sentenced to one year in prison. He is currently in Dallas County custody while investigations continue.
