A chilling crime has come to light in Eastpointe, Michigan, where two teenagers, a 14-year-old girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend, have been charged as adults after allegedly plotting to kill the girl’s mother. The incident, which occurred in mid-July, has shocked the local community and law enforcement due to the age of the individuals involved and the heinous nature of the crime.
The Incident: A Violent Attempt
On July 14th, Eastpointe police were dispatched to a residence on the 24,000 block of Roxana Avenue to investigate a reported home invasion, which later unraveled into a far more sinister event—a premeditated attempt on the life of a parent.
The investigation revealed that the 14-year-old girl, unhappy with her mother’s disciplinary actions, conspired with her 17-year-old boyfriend to kill her mother. The mother had confiscated the girl’s cell phone as a form of punishment, which reportedly sparked the deadly plot.
According to the police, the 14-year-old girl met the 17-year-old boy on a social media app. Their relationship, which had developed quickly, became the catalyst for the violent plan. The girl’s mother, unaware of the boy’s existence, had imposed the phone ban due to her daughter’s behavior issues at home. The police noted that the mother had described her daughter as a “problem child” with a history of behavioral issues and a juvenile record.
The Attempted Murder
The plan was set in motion in the early morning hours of July 14th. The 14-year-old girl left the door to her home unlocked, allowing her boyfriend to enter the house without resistance. Once inside, the 17-year-old allegedly proceeded to the mother’s bedroom, where he attempted to suffocate her with a body pillow.
The mother awoke and screamed, leading the assailant to switch tactics, attempting to strangle her instead. Fortunately, the commotion attracted the attention of the woman’s mother, the grandmother of the 14-year-old, who intervened and managed to stop the attack. The 17-year-old fled the scene, leaving behind significant evidence, including his shoes and a knife that was found in the street.
