The Breakfast Club Off in Atlanta? Another Prank?

Baller Alert ran a story about The Breakfast Club being booted from 105.3 in Atlanta. There are three odd things to consider.

They announced that they heard or saw that the news was on the site Baller Alert. Clues:

  • Would you mention a platform that just announced you are being canceled in Atlanta?
  • The Black Effect Podcast Festival is coming to Atlanta on the 27th. This would be an amazing opportunity for 105.3 in Atlanta to promote and market the event.
  • The Breakfast Club, while we love them, is becoming more and more famous for these pranks. There is no way a show would be canceled this close to an event (but stranger things have happened).

Kudos as these pranks are pretty well-crafted, solicit conversations, and are a great marketing tool for the show. it’s very interesting and entertaining to see non-industry people speculate and comment on what they think the issues are.

We have to give credit to TBC for being the leader in making the radio realm remain relevant and interesting. We would lean on the side that this is another great prank and they are still on in Atlanta as the show is too successful but we would not doubt that they will go as far as having the show pulled for the time being to garner more interest in the situation. Time will tell. See the announcement that was recently made about the Podcast Festival below…
