The Rickey Smiley Morning Show discussed top Christian pastor T.D. Jakes controversial comments about Black women. Reportedly pastor T.D. Jakes is making very contentious comments about the modern-day black woman, causing a stir in the Christian community. Allegedly many of the pastor’s followers, who are black women, are upset about his latest sermon, said Gary With Da Tea.

MTO has confirmed, saying many claims the message sounded more like something that came out of the mouth of Kevin Samuels than from a spiritual leader, said Gary. They’re saying the pastor spoke out recently, and he blasted black women, added the morning show host. The popular pastor had some harsh words for black women.

“We are raising up women to be men, and you are not applauded for your femininity. You are applauded in the contemporary society by how tough, rough, nasty, mean, aggressive, hateful, possessive you are, and we are climbing the corporate ladder, but we are losing our families. I know you can buy your own car. I know you can buy your own house, but until you create a need that I can pour into, I have no place in your life. So stop coming home bragging to me about how much you don’t need me and wonder why I shy away,” said T.D. Jakes.

Maria More said she heard a quote that said it’s not the insult that hurts; it’s the part that is believed to be true. Sometimes people are triggered when they hear certain statements because they see their reflection in the statement. She added that T.D. Jakes’s comments were not offensive to her.

Da Brat said that some might feel that T.D. Jakes’s comments imply that the only place for a woman is to cook and clean for a man. As a pastor, Jakes needs to be a little more careful because women have had the stereotype or have had to bow down to a man for so many years, and the stigma is there that women are only supposed to cook, clean, and have babies, she explained.

“Why can’t we be productive and successful, and I’m not saying be aggressive and the negative things and be nasty, but I could see why people would take it this way,” said Da Brat.

The radio host said before she met her husband, she was aggressive and independent and felt as if she had to do everything on her own, and it was a relief to have a man in her life to “lead” the radio host and her family.

“And when I say lead, I don’t mean dragging me by my hair but like leading my family,” she added.

Smiley said he would like a mix of both in his relationship with a woman. He likes an independent female who makes money, but when he comes home, he does not want to feel like he is in a courtroom.
