The Rickey Smiley Morning Show questions if Diddy was disrespectful to Yung Miami at the BET awards. Sean “Diddy” Combs received the BET lifetime achievement award and made a profound speech. Gary With Da Tea said the speech was touching and nearly made him cry.
“I’ma keep it 100 with y’all. I was in a dark place for a few years, you know what I’m saying, and I have to give a special thank y’all, shout out, special thank you; you know all that love to. I got to give a special thank you to the people that was really like there for me. Bishop TD Jakes, my chief of staff Kristina Khorram, KK, Laurieann Gibson, keeping me free, and also Cassie for holding me down,” said Diddy.
Gary said Diddy’s speech was out of line.
“That was the most disrespected a man could have done to a woman in America. He had Yung Miami sitting out there in the audience with a sign… and he did not call her name,” said Gary.
Gary said young Miami should feel like “dirt.” Diddy thanked Cassie, but she has a White husband and two new babies.
Rickey Smiley said Sean Combs wants Cassie back. However, Da Brat said that the music mogul does not wish to be reunited with his ex-girlfriend. He was simply thanking her for being there for him.
“Apparently, [he] probably talked to her about it, and she didn’t mind. He probably let her know what he was going to do,” said Da Brat.
Gary said he would have been upset if that had happened to him. Yung Miami has been there for Diddy and shown him much love. It was disrespectful what he did. However, Da Brat said she did not think it was disrespectful of Diddy to thank his ex-girlfriend during his speech.
Maria More said the speech was awkward to watch, and she felt “uncomfortable” for the female rap star.
